2 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Volunteers for 12 months From 15 Aug 2023Camphill Community Kyle is a small sized community in the South east of Ireland , County Kilkenny. Kyle is land-based and a residential facility for 16 adults with various support needs. We are looking for enthusiastic people who have an interest in community life and in supporting individuals throughout their daily life. Kyle has a team of health care proffessionals who together with volunteers create a healthy and friendly environment. Kyle has a small farm and garden as well as craft workshops and training programmes on-site. Some activity like hydrotherapy, swimming, outdoor pursuit or educational programmes like woodwork and art education programmes are off site. Volunteers live in the same house as the residents.
We provide induction and training to all successful applicants for the volunteer positions.
We would like that our volunteers will stay for a period of 12 months in the Community
There's no qualification required for a volunteer position, however good written and spoken English skills are required. Applicants should be enthusiatic, sociable, enjoy spending time with others and be able to work as part of a team.

Volunteers will join a house community supporting adults with a variey of needs. Some of those we support have high needs and need constant supervision. Others live in their own accommondation and need friends visiting regularly to support them as they manage their own lives. 3 Lifesharing Live-In Short Term Co-Worker From 15 Aug 2023We presently have vacancies for enthusiastic Co-workers who are willing to join our vibrant team and life-share in one of our households. We would like a one-year commitment starting from August/September each year. As a member of our community, you will live in one of our houses and play a full and active part in the life of our community. As a volunteer, your main task will be to support and befriend adults with a disability and help them access a wide range of leisure and work activities. Some residents will need support with their day-to-day needs to enable them to lead an active and integrated life. The setting at Jerpoint is rural with close proximity to the local town of Thomastown. There is a close link with the local community and activities are availed of around Thomastown and Kilkenny. You will receive a full induction and the necessary training to fulfill your responsibilities in a competent manner. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience something different for empathetic, caring and motivated individuals, with an interest in social care. This experience may be a little challenging at times but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding.
