Career Break Opportunities

Many  people come to a point in their lives when they might want to take a career break. They may look for a change or find that they look for a life more meaningful, than their present situation. Camphill can really benefit from people that bring life experience, a certain maturity and idealism. Whether you want to join Camphill as a family or as an indivdual, talk to us regarding different opportunities, that exist whether on a short term or longterm basis.

We are particularly interested to hear from families or individuals with relavant or transferable experiences, such as social care, social work, farming, horticulture,crafts on management experience. Our communities will assist with training, supervision and mentoring to ensure that the new experience is a positive one.

5 Camphill Kyle is looking for enthusiastic volunteers starting in July18 From 23 Jul 2018

Camphill Community Kyle is a land-based residential care centre in the beautiful South East.  We are looking for enthusiatic volunteers to join us for a min of 10 months and support the people we look after throughout their daily life. Volunteers need to be at least 18 yrs of age, have good written and spoken english and be able to work as a team. We are looking for enthusiatic, reliable, social and creative people to come and join us in July/Aug 2018.

1 One year social care volunteer From 01 Aug 2018

Do you come from a nursing background? We are offering one placement for a motivated young woman who is interested in care work and wishes to experience our life-sharing community spread over a small seaside village. You will join one of our three small house communities, where you share responsibilities with two other volunteers from many different countries. Each household is guided by house-coordinators and offers a home to up to three residents with disabilities. Camphill Ballymoney operates a small garden, a basket-workshop, a felt workshop and a small coffee-shop all of which have vacancies arising in the near future. Good English is essential, craft skills are welcome but full training will be given. Sign language is part of our ongoing training. Preference is given to those who can commit for the full year and who are 21 years or over.

This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year. You will join a vibrant team of about 20-25 young adults from many different countries. The role involves living in a household in the community together with adults with special needs, supporting them in their day to day needs and work life. This role would best suit empathetic, caring and responsible people with a strong sense of commitment. Good English is essential and preference is given to those who can commit for the full year.
 
?We are specifically looking for volunteers with experience or a strong interest in working on our farm to assist the farm manager which will potentially involve working unsociable hours compared with the other workshops.
 
A keen interest in adults with special needs is required. An interest in social care, art, music, farming/gardening, homemaking or a specific craft is an advantage. Full training and induction into the role will be provided as well as mandatory external training. We look forward to hearing from you.
 
 
On the farm, we have milking cows, sucklers, followers, pigs, sheep, and chicken. We also grow potatoes and fodder crops. The garden produces fruit and vegetables for the community and also looks after the orchard.

We would like to have people who could work with our friends with special needs. Some of our people may require more physical care than the others. On the other hand others may need different care when they are worried about some things. They all need different kind of care/ help/ support one way or another so that they can contribute to the work /life in the community or pursue their personal goal else where.
